Co-President Report for Nov 12th, 2025
Summary of recent Board meeting
Board papers approved:
Limit raised to $2000 before a Board Paper is required to be assessed by the Finance committee prior to Board approval. The club Guideline will be updated to reflect this change.
Funding approved for Timor Leste Scholarships for next school year
Funding approved to provide new pump for water supply to the Blue Kangaroo School in Uganda
Sponsoring a golf team in the Bendigo Toyota FoodShare Golf Day was approved.
Public Image and Social Media Policy
The following documents were adopted by the Board:
Social Media Engagement Plan
Public Image Strategy
Social Media Policy
Thankyou to the Public Image Action Plan group for doing all this work. The documents will be incorporated into the Club Guidelines for everyone to view. We will also do a presentation to the Club
Follow up from last week’s Club meeting:
Perceived complexities in members taking on leadership roles, meeting time and frequency, Membership and PI Director positions currently vacant and incorporating AI into some of our processes to reduce the administrative load in specific jobs were all discussed.
Outcomes:
At this stage there will be no further action on the meeting time & frequency
Paul H will investigate suitable candidates to help us explore the possibilities of using AI to streamline and reduce some of the administrative load.
The Board will be asking some members to be on a committee to explore ways we could make the club less structured/complex. We want to see what we can do differently, while having fun and providing a more inviting space to take on the roles that are required to keep the club running & vibrant.
Support for Treasurer
Evelyn has agreed to support Madeleine in the Treasurer duties for the next few months. Thanks Evelyn.

Guest Speaker
Bailey Edwards- Podiatry
Bailey began by giving us some background: grew up in Bendigo, graduated
from Latrobe Bundoora in 2022, and is currently working in private practice at
Podiatry on Williamson with 3 other podiatrists.
He explained that their work involves general care – callouses, corns, ingrown
nails etc, which have probably beset us all at some point. They also provide
orthotics, shockwave treatment, therapeutic ultrasound and solutions for
circulation, nerve and diabetic foot complications.
Bailey’s other great interest is correct footwear advice, and he gave us some
pointers on what to look for and avoid when purchasing sport shoes especially.
Fit and feel, make sure they are comfortable. Structure and support, heel
counter, strong build, shock absorption. Materials and durability, leather has
greater longevity for daily use, mesh for running/jogging etc. Functionality,
ensure that they are fit for purpose, ie lace-up or Velcro have differing values.
Some self-care advice: have regular foot checks, do strengthening and
stretching exercises for feet and calves, don’t ignore pain, and surprisingly (to
most men in attendance) moisturise often after bathing.
Bailey’s advice to when you should see a podiatrist? When pain affects your
daily walking routine, or there are rapid changes in skin or nails. And also, of
course, when you require tailored footwear, orthotic advice, or refurbishment
of your feet and shoes.
There was a lot of interest in Bailey’s address, proven by the number and range
of questions from his audience, and we thank him very much for attending our
meeting.
The line up for some fabulous food started early at the Swap Meet
The team hard at work
Thank you very much to the team from Cycling Without Age who manned the ice and drinks for the weekend.
The recent Rotary Downunder magazine had an article about the support provided to the Rotary Club of Taree on Manning. Our Club donated $12000.
The article in in the Sept/Oct issue if you want to read it with a bit more ease
Combined meeting with RC Bendigo
The Guest Speaker at the combined meeting with RC Bendigo on Dec 9th will be George Petrou speaking about his new book The Art of Humanity.
The book outlines the outstanding contribution which some little known Australians have made to their communities. Included are some beautiful photographs which George himself has taken.

The Noticeboard
Each week various information come into the Bulletin email, small bits to add into the bulletin that doesn't really go anywhere else but may be good to know. Sometimes it's an announcement, an invitation, an update or advertisement.
Here are this week's tidbits:
Shamick's Castlemaine Rotary Truck Show is on again - 29 - 30 November 2025.
They are expecting up to 300 trucks entered for judging, so if chrome is your theng, you'll be in heaven! Sponsor CMV Truck & Bus is bringing a Volvo FM Electric prime mover to the show and will be offering test drives, so an excellent opportunity to see the future of the transport industry up close and personal. Lots of entertainment and refreshments — we really target it as an affordable family day out.
