Another week in Rotary has brought more achievements of which we can be justifiably proud. It was also a pleasure to welcome Samantha Wittenberg as our guest speaker at Wednesday's club meeting. Through sharing her personal journey and the experiences that led to her work supporting carers, Samantha reminded us all of our own vulnerabilities and the remarkable power of positivity and resilience.

Several of our current and former members spent most of last Tuesday at Girton Grammar School assisting with the Science and Engineering Challenge. This annual event, conducted nationwide by the University of Newcastle and coordinated locally by the Rotary Club of Bendigo South, brings together Year 10 students from schools and colleges across Bendigo to compete in a range of engaging STEM-based activities. Nationally, almost 20,000 students participate as members of their respective school teams. Congratulations to Bendigo South East College, which won the local competition and will now progress to the State Final later this year.

Following a recent request for support from Street Peace Bendigo, several of our members attended the organization's weekly session on Wednesday evening to gain a better understanding of its work and to explore ways in which our club might be able to contribute. Finally, a reminder that, in place of our regular club meeting next week, we will be gathering for a social dinner on Tuesday evening at the Rising Sun, which many of us would agree is the best pub in Bendigo. We hope to see you there.
