Well, we have started 2024 with a great morning BBQ at Lake Weeroona. Plenty of fellowship and some discussion about the year ahead. Thank you to Rob, Kevin, Ray and Toni for organising the food, and John and Rob for operating the BBQ.
Next week we will meet again at Pepper Green Farm and will be updated about Australia Day. Please inform Kevin Reade about your availability in case you haven’t done so already. We are in contact with the Bendigo Advertiser to strongly promote the event. Gabrielle Richards, the Bendigo Toyota Marketing Manager, is our Australia Day Committee’s choice to be this years’ Australia Day Ambassador.
Soon, more good-quality T-shirts and polo-type shirts will be collected again from Donations In Kind in Melbourne for distribution in our region. Thank you, Graeme Lynas and John Cannon, for your ongoing work in enabling this to happen. It’s possibly a one-off opportunity to distribute quality clothing to needy people and organizations in our area. If members have ideas about who could possibly benefit from a supply of these garments, please let Graeme or John know.
As mentioned prior to our Christmas break, our secretary, John Harkin, is having a break after several years in this position and has offered to support an incoming secretary for the next year. We hope that one or two members (since this position can also be shared) will be willing to step into this role, knowing that John is available to assist in the background. Thank you again for your offer, John, as this is a crucial position for us. Naturally, total support for an incoming secretary/s will also come from the board.
Have a good week everyone. Take care!
Co-Presidents Ray & Adrian.
