News about President Dowell Mitchell and Rob Guley.
Dowell is in the Transplant ward at Royal Melbourne and would love any visitors (only 2 at a time) He has good days and bad days but is remaining positive.
Rob is back home and convalescing, he is uncomfortable after the surgery and hopefully this should see a start towards a better life now. He would love visitors but please ring Carol first.
This weeks guest speakers were Geoff Stephens, Voltaire Nadurata and Arnel Aquino. They are members of the Bendigo Filipino Community and have been raising money for survivors of Typhoon Haiyan. Geoff is well known to us as an ex-member of the club. Geoff's photo's showed us some of the damage to the many islands that make up the Philippines.

PP & Acting President Doug will provide a more detailed report later.

Please Note Change to Roster, The meeting scheduled for 2nd July is canceled with the Changeover on the 4th of July.
Report for bulletin 18.06.2014 from PE Cathie Miller
Hi everyone,
As mentioned at the meeting this week, there have been a few changes in the Board and committee positions for the incoming year.
Geoff Michell has agreed to be the Secretary for the incoming year
Cath McDonald is incoming International Director
The positions that Geoff was going to do next year have now become vacant – attendance and Foundation.
Liz Commadeur has volunteered to do the attendance
We need a volunteer for Foundation chair. This would be a great opportunity for some-one who wants to know more about what Foundation does and the Paul Harris Society. Please contact me if you would like to learn more about “our charity”
Report from the Cluster meeting.
As reported after the last cluster meeting, it has been agreed to have 2 set dates for cluster meetings to help the clubs with the planning of their meetings. The organisation of these meetings will be shared by 2 clubs and rotated around the cluster. The first meeting is to be held on 26th Nov and is to be organised by Bendigo South and Bendigo Sandhurst.
We therefore need 2 volunteers to help with the organisation. If you would like to help out, please let me know
Another issue that was discussed was the increasing trend of requests for donations for equipment for individuals. When a club receives a request, it is difficult to determine who else has been approached, have the formal channels for these requests been explored and the priority of need when there are multiple requests. This can create problems for clubs with their budgeting and distribution of available funds.
It was decided to form a cluster committee to investigate how the clubs can work with existing providers and possibly develop a framework for the clubs to manage these requests in a fair and transparent manner.
If you are interested in becoming involved in this, please let me know.
Cathie
The Rotary Club of Bendigo Next Generation will be taking responsibility for organising a Rotary 2015 Relay for Life team next April.
As part of this project, we will be hosting little fundraisers along the way to make a donation to Relay for Life on behalf of the Rotary clubs next year.
Our first event will be held on Monday July 28 and we would love for you, your family and your friends to come along.
We are holding a social evening of table tennis. The event will be help in memory of my Father, Jeff Rogers, who lost his short battle to cancer in
April this year. He was the Vice President of the Bendigo District Table Tennis Association and was extremely passionate about the sport.
The BDTTA has kindly donated the venue to us for the event and will provide bats and balls for us all to have a go and show our secret talents! You will
need to wear shoes that will not leave marks on their new floors though so sneakers are preferred or you can go bare foot.
Light supper will be provided and it will hopefully be a nice relaxing way to start the new year and the beginning of the Relay for Life team next year
If anyone has any questions please don't hesitate to contact me :)

Many thanks
Meghan Rogers President Elect
Rotary Club of Bendigo Next Generation
