It was good to be back at TAFE this week as we ease into the Rotary year, although the easing finishes on Tuesday as we need all hands on deck for Australia Day at the lake.
Peter Rainey and his team have done a great job getting everything ready whilst Evelyn and her team have worked tirelessly getting the 140+ stall holders organized for the Market at the lake, I’m really looking forward to a great day.
Don’t forget District conference registrations must close on 31 January there are still spaces so book now. There are over 800 registered but we’d love to see as many Bendigo Sandhurst faces in the crowd as possible.
As mentioned at the meeting Brian Hinneberg has had to take a leave of absence and we wish him all the best and hope for a speedy return. We do need to find a volunteer to take the reign of 3rd Wednesday of the month Sergeant until the end of the year, that’s just 5 more sessions. I look forward to hearing form all the volunteers.
The Club survey is out and we need your input, manual and email copies of the form have been distributed and I thank the 12 Rotarians who have returned the Survey. Remember we want them all back by Wednesday and there will be an envelope at the information tent on Tuesday for completed survey forms or you can email them to either John Canon, Adrian Schoo or myself.
Also at the meeting an expression of interest form was handed to members seeking their interest in participating in East Timor projects in 2016. The form will also be emailed to all members, please consider and complete and return the form by the 24th
Your Services Director Martin Ruffell provide some details on the upcoming Rotary Youth In Sailing program Held by Rotary Club of Brighton supported by sister Bayside Clubs and Sandringham Yacht Cub conduct the youth sailing program for young people in Regional areas of Victoria, who may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience the joy and exhilaration of sailing on Port Phillip Bay.
The 2015 program has been re-scheduled to be run from March 17th to 19th. The members of the Bayside Rotary Clubs generously provide accommodation, plus the Skippers and Crews of two large (40’ plus) yachts who have volunteered their time, we are again seeking Regional Clubs to sponsor one or more youths from the region to participate.
If you know anyone between 15 and 18 that has an interest in sailing, nominate them via the attached form or speak to Martin for more information
