This week in Rotary

No morning meeting at the Bridge.

Wednesday 24^th-Assistance required at the Bendigo Railway Station to man the BBQ for 3 hours-4-7pm

Wednesday 24^th-Foundation Dinner at the Rising Sun. This is a fellowship dinner to support the “End Polio Now” campaign 6.30pm- Note; No speeches or raffles, just an enjoyable get together enjoying the hospitality of “mine host” Pat Sheehan, in lieu of our usual morning breakfast.

Sunday 28^th. BBQ catering for the The Bendigo Cycling Classic. This is a fundraising event for two fantastic Bendigo-based charities to be held in the Bendigo Civic Gardens. 11.00am-2.30pm

100% of all funds raised via entries to Bendigo Cycling Classic will be donated 50/50 to The OTIS Foundation and Give Me 5 for Kids in Bendigo. Please let Kevin or Bruce know if you can assist.

Sunday 28^th- Jamshod dinner to support Bendigo Community Health. 6.00-8.30pm. Please let me know if you would like to attend. This is an opportunity to assist recently arrived Hazara men from Afghanistan in positive conversation and Rotary fellowship.

Last week in Rotary

A good roll up of eager members turned up for the annual Ride to Work breakfast which was held in Hargreaves Mall on Wednesday morning. Ably coordinated by Bruce and (Kev, in absentia) those willing riders and workers had a great breakfast cooked and served up by the team. Sustained by the generous donation of good coffee, it was really a case of “too many cooks spoiled the broth”, so lots of catch ups and conversations was had by all. Thanks to everyone who participated in a “not for profit activity”, for good community service.

Club activities.

Ray Carrington will be looking for volunteers willing to assist in developing an itinerary and accommodation schedule for the visiting Rotary Friendship team from Canada in March next year.

Martin and Glenn are “now taking names” for Rotary volunteers (and friends and family) to assist in the Swap meet.

The annual Christmas function this year will be a “Presidents picnic” on Sunday December 9^th, held at Merrin and Graeme’s home. Cathie and her team will be organising this activity, so more information to follow.
