I hope Doug and Kerry are enjoying their break in fabulous New Zealand.

Thanks to the team who attended the Showgrounds on the week-end to be parking attendants for the Dressage and Show jumping for Zone 10 event. For their efforts the club received $200.00

Our guest speaker today was Tony Spurling from St Vincent de Paul Society. The society was established during the French Revolution to support people in need by giving them “a hand up” and this philosophy continues today. Tony gave some examples of the variety of work they do – much of it in helping isolated people in the community. The society is facing some future challenges in how it manages it’s resources in light of recent changes in Government policies. They have 4 stores in the Bendigo area to support their work and they employ 3 people and have many volunteers to run their shops and programs.

As promised this morning, I have asked Bruce to include the information about the Rotary Leadership Institute training dates and application form. I am encouraging people to attend these training sessions or future ones – no matter how long you have been in Rotary.
