PRESIDENT REPORT for 22nd July 2026
The Club meeting last Wednesday provided Directors with an opportunity to share their plans, priorities, committee responsibilities, and individual roles for the 2026/27 year with all members. While these plans and priorities will undoubtedly evolve as the year progresses, it is both important and encouraging for members to know that we have established a clear direction and a solid foundation from which to build. In our efforts to create a lasting impact, having a well-considered plan in place is essential. Thank you to all Directors for the time and effort invested in this work.
Our first major fundraiser of the year has now been successfully completed. By all accounts, the Sheep and Wool Show was once again a tremendous success and remains a major attraction for both local residents and visitors to our city. While our Club’s contribution was only a small part of the overall event, it was nonetheless an important one. Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and effort to support this effort.
Please note that our industry visit to JL King & Co., originally scheduled for next Wednesday, has been postponed. A new date will be advised shortly. As a result, our regular meeting will be held at Peppergreen as usual, where we will be joined by guest speaker Samantha Wittenburg, who will be presenting on Health and Wellbeing.
Thank you to those members who assisted with Schools National Tree Day at Epsom Primary School this week. Planting activities were conducted on both Monday and Friday, with more than 100 enthusiastic young environmentalists planting approximately 500 native trees and shrubs. Our Club’s sponsorship and volunteer support were greatly appreciated. Congratulations and thank you to our Environment Team for another successful community project.
