Spirit of Anzac Centenary Experience – Volunteer Position
The Spirit of Anzac Centenary Experience is a national exhibition that tells Australia’s story of the
First World War and commemorates a century of service by Australia’s armed forces. The Spirit of
Anzac Centenary Experience follows a chronological timeline spanning from pre-war Australia
to the present day, using a mix of arresting visuals, artefacts, audio and film to engage visitors.
We are calling for enthusiastic volunteers to help bring the experience to life in your city as it travels
across the nation! Volunteers will play a vital role in the smooth running of the Experience. It will afford
them the opportunity to engage with the community and its local stories as well as enhancing the overall
experience for visitors.
As a volunteer you will have the opportunity to do any of the following:
· Facilitate the safety and well being of visitors
· Welcoming visitors and check tickets;
· Demonstrating how to use the audio guide;
· Assisting visitors with mobility requirements;
· Assisting in the cloakroom;
· Directing and moving visitors through the Experience;
· Encouraging and showing visitors how to operate the digital interactive installations;
· Talking to visitors about the Community Zone and artefacts;
· Thanking, encouraging visitor feedback and saying goodbye;
Each volunteer will be given a Spirit of Anzac Shirt to wear as uniform and you get to keep this at
the end as a thank you!
You must be 18 or over to apply for volunteering and able to attend at least one 6.5-hour shift.
Available dates for Bendigo are Thursday 26th November – Wednesday 2nd December.
