Co-Presidents Report for 26 th Nov 25
We had very good numbers for the AGM this AM – both in person and online.
We also welcomed Andrew Johnson who was with RC of Devonport but has now
moved to Victoria and has been visiting clubs in the area.
Our guest speaker couldn’t attend this am due to a family emergency, so Graeme
Lynas stepped up to tell us about his trip to Malaysia earlier this year. Thank you,
Graeme.
Graeme also acknowledged the passing of Monsignor Frank Marriott and the great
support he gave to the Afghan Jamshod dinners some of our members were
involved in.
Graeme also updated the members on the distribution of clothing from DIK that he
and John Cannon have been doing. The latest lot of clothing is being distributed to
Foodshare, the ED department at Bendigo Health and other community meal
groups. They have also supplied some furniture to some recent refugee arrivals.
Jim Rolfe is compiling the RSVPs for the joint dinner with RC Bendigo and our
Christmas dinner – please let Jim know if you are attending.
Liz wished our golfing team good luck for the Toyota Foodshare tournament on
Friday.
The bulletin team reminded members to send in stories and photos to help keep the
bulletin interesting.
A reminder about the multidistrict conference in Horsham next March. See below for
more information.
Stew advised that the Environment committee has registered for Clean Up Australia
on March 1 st , 2026. We will be cleaning up along Howard Street between the Epsom PS and Coliban Water treatment plant. Phil Britton will be liaising with the PS.
Stew also updated us on all the activity going on in the Youth Services area:
- RYLA is taking place at Camp Getaway at the end of the week. Stew has sent an
email to all members with details of the RYLA dinner. I encourage members to attend
as it is great to see the results from these events.
- The sailing Challenge is in January and there have been 2 candidates. We are
sponsoring one and Bendigo is sponsoring the other one. Both students are from
Marist College
- NYSF – there are 16 Bendigo based students attending in Jan. This is a great
outcome from the work Lyn Cooper from RC Eaglehawk has been doing to promote
the program to our regional students.
- Stew spoke about some of the recipients of the City of Greater Bendigo Youth
Awards and the great work they are doing in the community.
Stan advised that copies of the Attendance Record and Incident Report forms will be
kept in the trailer for easy access. They will also be on ClubRunner.
