A very international theme today. We welcomed Rotarians John Brennan and Ken Davis from Canada and Gary and Kerstin Langendorf from Sweden. Gary and Kerstin are the parents of our 1993 incoming student – Lina Langendorf. Gary gave a brief address to the club. A very warm welcome to you all and hope your travels are safe and enjoyable.
Our guest speaker was our very own George Waters speaking on Foundation.
Along with the help of Cilla Black singing Älfie”, George spoke about his perception and interpretation of what Rotary Foundation is and how we fit with it. If you want to know more, speak with George as I could not do justice to his presentation! Thanks George, an enlightening and humorous presentation.
An International Expo is being organised in Bendigo. The expo is to provide Rotarians and the general public information and ideas on what projects are being run and what the possibilities are. This has been run in Melbourne and provided and stimulated ideas. The general public will be encouraged to attend to learn more about what Rotary can do.
The cluster is organising this expo and needs volunteers from each of the clubs. I am looking for 1-2 volunteers, so please contact me if you can be involved.
Stan gave a report on the Swap Meet last week-end. The turnover was slightly down – possibly because of the weather on Sunday.
Peter Rainey gave an update of the progress of the Australia Days plans and the changes for this year.
Paul Kirkpatrick advised members that we need some nominations for new members and reminded everyone of the opportunity that is offered with the cluster Foundation meeting next week.
A reminder that our morning meeting has been cancelled for the meeting on Tuesday night.
Have a great week everyone. Cheers, Cathie

Breaking news from Canberra....

There will NOT be a Nativity Scene in Canberra this Year
The Supreme Court has ruled that there cannot be a Nativity Scene in
the nation's Capital this Christmas season.
This isn't for any religious reason.
They simply have not been able to find Three Wise Men in Canberra ..
The search for a Virgin continues.....
There was no problem, however, finding enough donkeys to fill the stable.
