Wednesday saw another chilly morning and a few more rotarians returning form their winter getaway. It was great to see Rotarian Andrew Pipkorn back at our club even though it was just as a visitor.

Forum this week and with many still away or unwell just the 2 reports

Martin - Youth Services

- We are looking for a young person for the end of year RYLA leadership camp. We are looking for someone 18 to 25 so if you have any ideas please pass onto Martin .

- The science experience is also open for nominations for either year 9 or 10 students.

- Amy Reade has been working on the development of a relationship with a school in Eaglehawk to develop a rotary reading program, where Rotarians would spend one day a week for 30 minutes listening to a child read and helping them to improve those reading skills. Volunteers will be needed who can spare 3o minutes a week ongoing.

- Martin and Adrian will be delivering a presentation on Rotary to the Weeroona students from the advance class who are attending an overnight camp at Camp Getaway. Both Martin and Adrian are working with these students on a number of areas.

Adrian Schoo - Vocational

- Working with Advance class to identify opportunities to integrate with Rotary and learn some new skills to help them both vocational or with their community work.

- There may be opportunities to include a mentoring program and get them involved with the alternate schoolies program to central Australia.

- As Martin and Adrian develop the program they are hopeful of running a a session at next years conference on the opportunities with working with youth and schools.

A crook mistakenly made a counterfeit $8 bill instead of a $10 bill. He decided to try it out anyway, so he went to the bank and asked for change.

The teller looked at the $8 bill and gave the crook two $4 bills as change.

Most people believe that if it isn't broke, don't fix it.

Computer Engineers believe that if it isn't broke, it doesn't have enough features yet.

After an elderly couple starts getting forgetful, they visit their doctor. Their doctor tells them that many people find it useful to write themselves little notes.

When they get home, the wife says, "Dear, will you please go to the kitchen and get me a dish of ice cream? And maybe write that down so you won't forget?"

"Nonsense," says the husband. "I can remember a dish of ice cream."

"Well, I'd also like some strawberries and whipped cream on it," the wife replies.

"My memory's not all that bad," says the husband. "No problem -- a dish of ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream. I don't need to write it down."

He goes into the kitchen, and his wife hears pots and pans banging.

The husband finally emerges from the kitchen and presents his wife with a plate of bacon and eggs.

She looks at the plate and asks, "Hey, where's the toast I asked for?"

Brian walked into work and saw his co-worker looking particularly sour. “Hey what’s wrong buddy?” His friend looked up with a forlorn expression on his face. “You remember last month how my Grandmother’s sister passed on and left me $2,000?”

“Yes,” said Brian nodding his head.

“And you remember how the month before that her brother passed on and left me $5000?

“Uh huh” said Brian again.

Well this month is almost over,” said the co-worker with a wave of his hand “and………………..NOTHING!”
