Co-President's report
Co-Presidents Report for 5th November 2025
We had our first Club Day for the year today. Thank you to everyone who
participated – we had some great ideas and robust discussions.
A summary of the topics we covered:
  • The AGM is coming up and there are several positions to be filled. Members were asked to deeply consider what leadership position they could take up for next year to help keep our club functioning well
  • There were some discussions on possible reasons people are reluctant to take on leadership positions – this will be explored more.
  • The current vacant positions on the Board were discussed with the possibility of combining them for the rest of this year
  • The future of the Market Co-ordinator position was discussed and prompted some great ideas to explore for the future management to ensure sustainability
  • Discussion was had about paying for a project worker to help with managing major projects and possibly expanding this to involve cluster clubs
  • Another topic of discussion was about how the Club could use AI to ease some of the administrative burden
  • Meeting times and frequency was bought up as something to consider
  • Feedback on the Regional Emergency Relief Network Zoom meeting was provided and a robust discussion followed.
Outcomes from today’s discussions:
  • The Board to consider these items and decide how to move forward. There is a Board meeting next Tuesday where they will be discussed
  • Paul H will explore how we can use AI with some of our processes
  • The Club does not support being involved in the Emergency Relief Network
    project

Comet Hill Working Bee last Sunday (2nd Nov.)
Warm sunny morning and some willing helpers made light work of spreading the mulch pile supplied free of charge by the council. Thanks to Adrian for organising the mulch. As expected, there were a few sore backs by the end of the morning, but also lots of smiles and happy plants.

Bluelight BBQ
We cooked a sumptuous lunch for the Bluelight Youth Day at Camp Getaway on Wednesday (5th Nov.). Most of the young people who attended, are currently, or have recently been part Blue Light’s One-to-One mentoring program.  It was great to have the opportunity to chat with them over lunch and afterwards. We will see a couple of them again quite soon, helping us at the Swap Meet.
