A small report on behalf of a very busy Vice President Doug.
As you will have read from last week’s bulletin President Dowell is now back in Royal Melbourne Hospital undergoing Chemo in preparation for the bone marrow replacement. We are crossing all fingers and toes that this time he will be able to proceed.
This week’s meeting was consumed by the launch of The Powercor Australia Bendigo Business Excellence Awards. It was pleasing to see all the invited guests filling the room, they went within a whisker of outnumbering the Rotarians.
Congratulations must go the Gerard House and his team for their efforts. They have successfully expanded the sponsor list, well before the launch and set the awards up for another great year.
The sponsors this year are Naming rights:Powercor Australia. Platinum Sponsors:All Seasons Hotel, CVGT Australia, RACV Business Insurance. Gold Sponsors: Access Employment, Bendigo Bank, Bendigo TAFE, City of Greater Bendigo, National Australia Bank, Regional Development Victoria and Stratagem. Media Sponsors:Bendigo Advertiser, WIN Television.
Our next meeting is transferred as a vocational visit to the Bendigo Library. Wednesday 4th June at 6.45am for a 7.15am start. Numbers to Phil Harris please.
Chrysler Mopars will take place at the Town Hall Gardens again this year on Sunday the 8th of June, 8am to 2pm.
There will be a Roster brought to the next few meetings. Giants of the BBQ scene Kevin Reade and Rob Rosaia WILL NOT be available on the day. So we will need to double our volunteer capability to manage. Roster is still short of a couple of Volunteers for afternoon session from 1pm to 2pm.
The club changeover is fast approaching, as you will have already read Evelyn Lehmann's invitation, please reply with your numbers ASAP.
