Our last meeting gave directors the opportunity to update us on a number of activities that the club is currently involved in.   I’d encourage members, if you have an idea or project you would like to bring to the club, talk to the directors and look at how we can make it happen.

We have agreed to again support the Valentines day ball for 2016 with both a financial contribution and physical support, thanks to those members involved in helping bring this together.  The ball aims to raise $17k to $25k for Bendigo Health.

The second Money spinner which is currently in storage and is difficult to move around for one off events, is to be offered to Radius on permanent loan for use at the new Morley Johnson building to help in their fundraising.

We are currently exploring  ideas to support the new look Bendigo Business Awards in some form.  This could include some sort of sponsorship, assistance with judging and providing historical information.   We are not looking as a club at  becoming involved on the organising process

The AGM Is  on the 25th November, its time to start thinking about 2016-17,  this is a critical part of any club and we need you to think about the role you can play in 2016-17.  Don't wait to be asked and don't leave it to the same people to fill the roles.  It's your club...

The friends of Rotary application and membership process will be finalised by this time next month.

We will be conducting a membership and skills survey to aid the club in its future planning and membership growth.  We will also allocate a meeting to work though this and generate some ideas going forward, so get thinking on how we as a club can become more attractive to future members

We are still looking for volunteers for the Rotary-primary school reading project.  The idea is simple a Rotarian each week would go out and spend time with a young primary school student listening to them read and reading with them to help with their educational development.  We need 6 Rotarians for about 40 minutes per week at the start of the school day for the program to work.   Please if you would like to be involved get in contact with Amy Reade.

The Weeroona college advance class are holding a trivia night on the 23rd of October to raise money for their Fiji project.  We have 1 table already but if anyone would like to go speak to Adrian and we may be able to get a second table.  The club will make a donation to the class at the trivia night  in recognition of their work at federation picnic and to support the project.

The Bendigo National swap meet will be held on the 14th and 15th of November and again the combined clubs will be catering so we need your support to fill roster spaces on that weekend and to make it a little easier to do that the Weeroona college advance class will also assist the club to fill roster spots.

A small group will work with Weeroona  College students to look at the best outcome for our website and online presence.

In a final note to round out this Bulletin report “Go Hawks – looking for 4 on a row”
