President's report

Presidents Report 35.

Here we are well into the beautiful months of Autumn, no doubt tending to our gardens. Please keep in mind the much-needed help for the gardens in Rochester. New dates to be given shortly for more working bees.
We are still looking for a couple of volunteers to collect some items from DIK in Melbourne. A Tuesday or Thursday is the available time when the building is open. A member who has access to a Ute or Trailor would be appreciated.
Our monthly board meeting was held on Tuesday last. Madeleine Schoo has now officially taken over the role as Club Treasurer, thank you again for stepping up.
An idea by John Cannon to donate $1000 to the 2023 World Disabled Water Ski Championships was approved by the board.
The director's reports presented will be discussed at the next Forum meeting.
I believe the Crusoe Reservoir tour was very informative and attended by a dozen members. A very tasty breakfast was rescheduled at the last minute, thanks to Doug at the Fox and Giraffe. Special thanks to our possible newbie Colleen for joining the team.
Stew was team leader for the Sustainability BBQ on Sunday, perfect weather assisted popularity of the event. Thanks to our members who supported this worthwhile festival.
Jim, our thoughts are wishing you a speedy recovery following your covid episode.
Still some opportunities to pack your old kit bag, good walking shoes and head for a weekend in the wilderness at Barham. Contact Barham Caravan Park 5453 2553 and talk to Kev about the excitement planned!

The visit to Crusoe Reservoir last Wednesday morning saw fifteen members assemble in the car park on a beautiful morning for an informative tour. City of Greater Bendigo Ranger Blair Venn gave us an overview of the Crusoe park and then lead us on a tour of the old water processing plant at the foot of the dam wall. The workmanship that the original construction teams is still evident with the majority of the structure still intact after 150 years. Past President John Cannon (the unofficial Mayor of K’Flat.) thanked Blair on behalf of the members present for his information and passion for the park.

Melbourne International Conference - Club dinner

I have organised our Bendigo SANDHURST club dinner to be on Saturday 27^th May

The venue is called “Olive Tree Restaurant at 19 Park Street, South Melbourne At 6pm.
