Wednesday’s meeting was a timely reminder to us all to take care of our heart.
Our guest speaker Christine Reese gave us some alarming facts on the risks of Heart attack.
26 lives a day in Australia lost, 50% of them die before they reach a hospital,
most because they don’t realise they have had a heart attack.
She shared her own story and gave the members a present some signs to
watch for and the best course of action.
She suggested we all should have the small “How you recognize your heart attack?”
printed and handy at home
Stan Hendy presented a cheque to the club on behalf of the Combined Swap Meet
Catering Committee for $4100 as our clubs share from the Swap.
The same amount has also been donated to the Junortoun Fire Brigade,
Sea Cadets and the Special Development School from the proceeds of the swap meet.
Thanks to all those that have returned the survey, 31 returns wasn’t a bad result in the end.
We are currently working on compiling the results ready for Monday night’s Board Meeting
and to present to the club at the next forum.
Bendigo Rotary, Night Golf fundraiser for the Operation Cleft promise to be a great fun social night.
We have decided as a club to support the evening by paying for 2 teams to play, in the nine-hole
par three fun competition. We are looking for 8 Rotarians who want to have some fun to make up the teams.
As our resident golfer Doug Lougoon would suggest “this is not serious golf” so were not looking for serious golfers,
although you're welcome to play too. To book your space let me know by the 1st of March
Nice to see Tim Connors from Bendigo Next Generation at our meeting.
Next Gen still has a few of the Vintage Bendigo 2016 calendars for sale at a bargain $10,
so if you would like one or more get in touch with Tim.
