Co-presidents’ Report - 25 April, 2024
ANZAC day commemorative services:
Thank you to our club members who attended this function and, in particular, Kevin, Rob and Maurice who started setting up the BBQ at 4.30am.
The theme of this year’s service was ‘Peacekeepers, Peacemakers and Peacebuilders’. The solemn service started at 6am and was attended by a huge crowd who were brave to get up early and defy the cold in respect for all who are or were affected by war and peace keeping through injury or death. The emotions were palpable during the Last Post whilst the moon trying to look upon us through the moving clouds.
The official part of the service finished at 6.30, which was the sign for us to feed the crowd. This ran even better than clockwork. Thank you again for your attendance in lieu of the club meeting.
District conference experiences:
Our club had 11 members attending the conference as delegates and, in addition, a number of our members visited the showcases that were on display. We encourage all to share some of your experiences that moved you at our next club meeting and possible ideas you may have to serve our community.
