Great to see so many Rotarians at the ride to work breakfast In the Mall last week and it was even better to see one of us riding his bike.  Breakfast was well received by biker riders and others and it’s always good to raise the profile of the club at these community events.

Over the next few weeks, as a Rotarian you will have the opportunity  to nominate for a board position within the club for the 2016-17 year.  This is a great opportunity to grow the club and to build the great work of the club in the community,  get in touch with Connor and put your ideas and name forward.  The AGM is on the 25th November so nominate now.

A final reminder of the Bendigo and Bendigo South combined meeting next Tuesday October 27th with Richmond CEO Peggy O’Neal 6.30pm for 7pm Bendigo Club $45 per head.  Tickets available through Sports Power Bendigo or Eaglehawk Newsagency.    Paul

A message from Anne Peace

The Colleen Hewitt concert bookings are going extremely well with the lower level booked out.  Seats still available in the upper level.

This is very pleasing for Bendigo and the Annie North Centre.

Foundation Dinner on Thursday, November 26.  This will be in the Platinum Room at The Foundry with excellent sound and vision,

wonderful food and good service.  The room will be exclusively ours.

Guest speaker will be returned Peace Scholar Stephanie Woollard who founded Seven Women in Nepal.

Following on the theme, on Sunday, November 29 a documentary on Seven Women will be screened at The Star Cinema at 2pm.

organised by RC Eaglehawk with afternoon tea and a stall of products for sale.  This documentary will be screened in Sydney and Melbourne

in 2016 but we are fortunate to have an advanced preview.

Would you look at those legs, and in lycra

The Pastors wife was expecting a baby, so he stood before the congregation and asked for a pay rise. After much
discussion, they passed a rule that whenever the Pastor's family expanded, so would his pay packet.
After six children, this started to get expensive and the congregation decided to hold another meeting to discuss
the Pastor's expanding salary.
After listening to them for about an hour, the Pastor rose from his chair and spoke. "Children are a gift from God and
we will take as many gifts as he gives us".
  Silence fell over the congregation.
In the back pew, a little old lady struggled to stand, and finally said in her frail voice. "Rain is also a gift from God, but
when we get to much of it, we wear rubber boots".
  The entire congregation said "Amen"

Have a great day Amy!
