President’s Report

Reclink program, second match continued this week with next due on the 27th of April. Thanks to Bruce, Cathie and Neville for helping out. Venue again at California Gully football ground.

Firstly Easter Friday, what a great day for our club, stallholders and Bendigo. Credit flows to all who participated on the day and behind the scenes in the planning department who spent many hours poring over the detail. Speaking to individual stallholders, without doubt (95%+) had their best Easter Friday ever. Compliments on the Club’s organizational skills and efficiency were over welling

Easter Monday was another story, where the elements were definitely against us and the stallholders. We were obliged to make a call early (6:30 am), conferring with Council representatives, we decided to cancel the Rotary market for the day, we could not have our stallholders given the small number that turned up, setup in the rain and potentially be devoid of customers. As it turned out a lot of the major events were also cancelled.

On a brighter note thanks to the Rotary Club of Bendigo South for providing an extra BBQ at the Tom Flood end of the market, my understanding was that, they went so well one their members (Gary) was seen raiding Kev’s cool room for extra product.

Also Rotary Club of Eagle hawk ran a community stall (see photo) to sell their books, by all reports they had a successful day. Great to see other Bendigo clubs working together
This Wednesday Michael Lapina from District will be workshopping Club Runner via Zoom, bring your laptops/IPad etc so that you can practice

The ANZAC breakfast is on again next week, see Bruce if you are able to help on one of our iconic events

If you able try and support Rochester Rotary Club for their Pie and Port night need to book now

The work that your club does for our community is inspirational and again you are leading the way with the Easter markets which will support the wonderful projects the club is involved with.

Thank you for thinking me worthy, we all do what we do to make a difference and improve the lives of others.  Thank you again, I am proud to be given this opportunity and wish you all well in your future endeavors.  If I can be of assistance with your projects please do not hesitate to contact me
