It was a cold wet morning for the HALT breakfast but still a good turn up - well done team. Thanks Graeme Lynas for speaking about Rotary, staying connected to community and reminding us to maintain the work/life balance.
Report from cluster President’s meeting 3rd May 2015
Terry Dalwood gave a brief report on Men Shed at Cal Gully. Strong Rotary links with Mens Shed in Bendigo and community. Terry requests that Rotary clubs (more than 1) in cluster support Mens Shed – assistance. Terry will forward an email with more information and interested clubs can register their interest with him. Terry will then arrange a meeting date and time.
National Insurance – as a result of the feedback from the Clubs, the District Governance Director is writing to the Rotary Australia insuance providers to improve the cover for those over 80 and 90 years
RC Kangaroo Flat distributed information on their chocolate project. Clubs can purchase chocolates with the Rotary logo embossed on each piece.
Rotary Club Central – training for cluster Presidents and Secretaries on the value of this portal and how to use it was discussed. ADG Greg Noonan will follow this up

Queens Birthday Weekend MOPARS  Sunday  June 7th (More to follow)

Editorial comment:
On Saturday night the club ran its now annual 'Groovin the moo' Sausage sizzle at the Bendigo Railway Station. Stan Hendy, Graeme Lynas and John Harkin glued themselves to the Vegie Burger/onion counter for the whole night. Whilst Martin Ruffell, ably assisted by Rob Rosaia and Lindsay Murphy rolled the sausages. (Maurice would have had a tear in his eye to see their efficiency) Front of house was managed briliantly by Evelyn, Amy, Liz and Connor. Bread was under martial law with Patti running her crew like a well oiled machine. Special mention must go the the master Spruiker Gerard House and his assistant Paul Kirkpatrick. (They increased the sales by wooing the customers) As well as John Cannon with two barrels firing (Sauce that is) I know I have not named all who were there, I will just say the cast was too numerous to name.
We cooked 40 kg onions, 192 Vegie Burgers and 110 kg sausages. Photograph 1 also shows a MYKI machine which Rob was using as a leaning post. We have been asked to move about 4 metres next year so it can be used.

The club last week purchased a hot box. (We used two on the night) Even then we had a frantic 20 minutes after 11 pm.
