HIGHLIGHTING URGENT NEEDS!!
-Toilet Paper rolls or cleaning products required for Rochester project. If each member could bring something to donate, we will have the boxes filled in no time. Every item will be truly appreciated!
-Last Monday Stew attended the Science and Engineering Challenge as a club guest for lunch and we had Graeme and Neville assisting in supervisory roles. Thanks for helping Bendigo South with the day.
-A great night was had at the Castlemaine Club dinner meeting, with 12 of us attending. Most who left from Bendigo carpooled which added to the fun. Even though someone had to take the scenic route as they were deep in conversation and missed the turn. Unsure what the look on Evelyn’s face meant. But arrived on time and home again, with the couple in the back snuggled up with their cozy knee rugs!
-Mark Weragoda is going to update some of our pull up banners for the club. Will be great to have these displayed at the door and even in our meeting at the tennis centre. It's important to have our branding around especially as we are unable to display our honour boards.
- Any suggestions as to what we can do with our flags for display?
-Thanks for keeping John informed with your leave dates, it makes it much easier for rostering.
-A very interesting meeting with Teddy Transcendent from Yo Bendigo. He is an Engaged Communities Youth Officer with the council. They are organizing a Festival Event in Eaglehawk and have asked us to come on board. More information after reviews next week.
-A small working bee was had on Thursday in preparation for the Federation Picnic. And Graeme moved some chairs to Bendigo South. It's great we can share our materials amongst the cluster.
-See you all on Sunday with aprons on. Thanks to Ted for helping to refold the 50 or so in an orderly fashion.

SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING CHALLENGE - STEW ANNAN
The Science and Engineering Challenge for Central Victoria was held last Monday at the Bendigo South East College Stadium.
The event, which was coordinated by Bendigo South Rotary club, was attended by approximately 200 Year 10 students from 8 Regional Schools. Rotary Clubs across the Bendigo cluster provided assistance. During the event, the students took on a series of challenging scientific and engineering tasks which were designed by the University of Newcastle.
Having been shelved for the last couple of years due to covid, the event this year was a great success. The winning school, Bendigo South East College, will now go forward to the national final in October, where they will compete with other regional winners from across the country.
This year, the national final will be held here in Bendigo and will be coordinated by Bendigo South. Thanks to Graeme Lynas and Neville Sharpe who helped on the day setting-up and supervising some of the student challenges.
The guest Speakers at Castlemaine were two local musicians. Glen Braybrook and Brett Garsed.
These chaps have played in many bands over the years, to name a few Black Dogs, Darkside, Sharp Toys and Cosmic Psychos.
They had only had 1 and 4 guitar lessons before they began their careers. Brett played with John Farnham for many years and has been asked to play with Robbie Williams for his concert .Glen enlightened us with many stories of the bands and took us down memory lane, showing us some of the posters advertising gigs. Eg, Rose Tattoo, ACDC was $4 entry in 1976. Much fun and laughter were had.
