That Vehicle

Remember that Nissan Patrol we bought for the Carmelite Sisters Timor-Leste ?   Seems a long time ago.  Well, the car-in-container has arrived at Dili. Stay posted for updates.

 

We have sent instructions to Rotary Liaison Office in Dili, and to Sister Madalena, in English, Indonesian and Tetum, all to ensure that our message gets through.

The Kevin Reade – Bruce Fraser MKR Team will be in action at the official Open Day Bendigo Health … that’s corporate speak for the new hospital, on Saturday [Dec 3^rd]

Three thousand folk have booked, to see our messages, enjoy an over-the-counter G’day and savour our culinary delights.

 

Our board has agreed to all profits from this event be donated to Bendigo Health Foundation.

 

[Governments build the bricks and mortar elements of new hospitals and then traditionally it’s up to the community to upgrade the existing equipment.  Hence, the Foundation.]

Knitting

Ray Carrington must be feeling like the proverbial chicken with no head as he goes beyond the call of duty resurrecting and re-housing the Patti Cotton Knitting Project, John Cannon providing interim shed facilities.

 

Patti, Ray and Team are talking to our colleagues at RC Eaglehawk at the 1853 Mechanics Institute, about a venue for her team and the Friends of The Gallery regular workshops, and between-workshops storage for the garments.

 

Christmas Break

 

Traditionally we'll not have any meeting. December 28, or January 4.

 

January 11, we'll do something different and fun, as we contemplate our BIG DAY Australia Day.
