President's report
Welcome everyone
Christmas is almost here again and how excited everyone is to be having a break and hopefully not every day in overcoats and brollys!
Last Tuesday had a very informal dinner with the Cluster Presidents, Heather, Merlyn , Peter and Vera , AG Alison and DGE Ron and Deb. A great opportunity to look at sharing some projects together and reflection on where we are now.
On Wednesday Pres Heather from Rochester and myself travelled to Melbourne Rotary as guests for their Festive Christmas lunch. She was invited to speak as a guest and the funds raised were donated for the Flood Appeal. A delicious Christmas dinner whilst entertained by two wonderful musicians.
This created a time to speak with Bob Glinderman, Co-Ordinator of Donations In Kind, about further products available for Rochester. DG Amanda Wendt confirmed her visit to us on Feb 4th for FOR A Meal project.
Wednesday night saw our Fun Filled Festive Christmas Dinner evolve. Many thanks to Fellowship Chair Cathie and Barb for organizing such a great event. And Julia and Lizzie for sharing their beautiful vocals for us to enjoy. Very entertaining and a special treat!
Thursday Stew organized a visit to Weerona College with Prinicipal Jason and Leading teacher of social wellbeing Matthew, for an update of the expenditure on the Disadvantaged Student Support Program. A board paper will be addressed for topping up of this project.
We were given some RATs to hand out for community use and will have these at next weeks meeting.
Friday 6am the smiles could not be wiped off the faces of Kev and Rob as we attended the last BBQ for the year. It was V-Line’s staff breakup breakfast. The team of Elves helping - John C, Stew, Stan, Ray, and Chris - made light work of it. Twas a steady pace and it turned out to be a fun festive brekky. APOLOGY Kev realise you are doing a BBQ for Inner Wheel on Sunday at the Carols.
Lightning Reef PS held their Report day and presented Stew, Paul Kirkpatrick and the team with an award in appreciation of all the support, both in hands-on and financially over the year. It was so delightful to see the expressions of joy as they received their rewards and farewells for the children leaving the school.
Then off to Rochester at 3.30 with AG Alison and President Peter from Bendigo to meet Heather and transfer the Mosquito Repellent Candles to the oval. The project was to distribute these to individuals and their families at the Community Christmas Function over the evening. It was wonderful to see all the community out enjoying themselves. 600 candles were distributed.
This week's meeting is a club forum. Please bring along anything you would like discussed.
Some items already are the possibility of Changing Meeting Time, as well as joint projects with other clubs eg carparking at the race course.
We are looking for some members,4-5 for our IT team, so we are covered for all leave etc. Please give this some thought.
URGENT….We still have a lot of outstanding fees and clothing items to be paid, these are overdue. Can these please be finalized this week. We will have the EFTPOS machine there again at our meeting for your convenience.

ROTARY MOVIE EVENT - THE LOST KING
There is still some money to come in from other Cluster Clubs but it would appear that the final amount of profit from the movie event will be just in excess of $1,100 to be sent to Rotary Foundation End Polio Now.
Melbourne Rotary luncheon in support of the Rochester community.
Julia and Lizzie provided the musical entertainment for our Christmas party.

Lightning Reef PS awards ceremony: Stew (and Coles) got a special mention for the Monday fruit program. Our club was also commended for the ongoing support of the Passions and Pathways project. The principal said they could not continue the program without RCoBS supporting the bus costs.
Stew collected the certificate of appreciation on behalf of the club.
The Monday fruit program is very much appreciated.
