November is upon us and the AGM is closing fast, 25th November is the date and there is still time to nominate for the 2016-17 Board.  This is your chance to get involved or to revisit the board after a few years break.  If you want to know more or are considering nominating give either Connor or myself a call.
 
There was plenty to report on this week. 
All hands on deck for National Swap Meet –14th and 15th November if you’re not on the roster please contact Martin.  It is great to have Weeroona College Students advance class filling some of the roster spaces.
 
Friday the 4th December 2015 we are cooking bacon and egg rolls at the camp site in North Bendigo, catering for breakfast for riders and support staff as they head of for day 7 of the ride.
 
Don’t forget to reserve the date Saturday 5th December for what could be hypothetically speaking the social event of the millennium.  Saturday Evening at the Bendigo Pottery $45 per head, including arrival drinks, you won’t want to miss this.
 
The next Board meeting will be the Monday the 16th November at McConnell Drive Junortoun, please have board papers or items of business to Secretary Geoff by Friday. 
 
Australia Day meeting committee are gearing up for the 2016 family day at the lake as is the Market committee, get behind Peter (Australia Day)and Evelyn (Markets) as this is a huge event for the club and our community. 
 
Treasurer Phil reminded all those members with outstanding dues to contact him an arrange payment please
 
District 9800 conference in Bendigo 11th to 13th March Don’t forget early bird registrations for the district conference close on the 30th of November.  Registering before this date saves a massive $75 of the price so register now at http://rotary9800conference.org.au
 
There are still opportunities to be a home host for conference delegates coming to Bendigo for the conference in March if you want to know more or would like to participate drop me an email or contact President Tony Bland form Bendigo South.
 
Recycle your Mobiles for National Recycling Week 2015 The Rotary Club of Eaglehawk is celebrating National Recycling Week 2015 (November 9th to 15th) by seeing how many mobile phones we can collect in our MobileMuster collection unit.  Bring your old mobile phones, batteries and accessories to one of our regular meeting and we will collect them and pass them on to  Rotarian, Past President Richard Epskamp at Eaglehawk.
Another District conference  9790 will be held in Bendigo 25th to 28th February 2016 and there is an opportunity for some fellowship between Rotary Districts as  we are invited to the Sports Dinner to be held on the evening of Thursday 25th February at the Ulumbarra Theatre. “On The Stage”  -Guest presenter will "Smokey" Dawson and guest speaker Caroline Wilson.  Bookings http://rotary9790.org.au/SitePage/conference-2015-2016.
In addition, if any of your Members are interested in joining in their sporting activities (also on the Thursday 25th February, sports will be Golf, Cricket, Bowls you can book them online as well.

Wednesday night November 18th Etihad Stadium  6:30 pm for Dinner  7:00 PM till 10:00 PM As RI President Elect, John will informally share with us his life and journey to Rotary President and give us an insight into his Rotary vision for 2016-17.
 
2016 Young Leaders Summit. Rotary International Seoul Convention - the 2016 Rotary International Convention will be held in Seoul, Korea, from May 27th to June 1st.  In conjunction with the convention a  “Young Leaders Summit (YLS)” will be conducted. This program is designed to serve the young leaders worldwide between the age of 19 and 40.
 
Young Leaders will participate in Special Young Leaders Conference, Convention Opening & Closing Ceremonies, YLS dedicated Breakout Sessions, Hands-on Service Project, Rotarian Parade, Sightseeing & Cultural Experiences, and Opportunities to Serve the Convention as Voluntary Guides.   District 9800 are looking for four participants who wish to attend the Young Leaders Summit
 
To be selected you must be between the age of 19 and 40, be able to speak English fluently and be able to contribute some funds towards the cost of this program,  accommodation expenses will be provided during the official period of the Rotary International Convention and District 9800 will provide the return airfare to Seoul.
 
To express interest in attending the Young Leaders Summit I ask that you write an essay entitled, My Rotary Leadership Journey, and be prepared to attend an interview if short-listed,  application form will need to be sent to District Secretary by email secretary@rotarydistrict9800.org.au  by Friday the 13th of November 2015.

Guest speaker will be returned Peace Scholar Stephanie Woollard who founded Seven Women in Nepal. 

Following on the theme, on Sunday, November 29 a documentary on Seven Women will be screened at The Star Cinema at 2pm.

in 2016 but we are fortunate to have an advanced preview.
