President's Message

Where do I start?
A noisy, successful meeting with D9800 DG Peter, and Anne Frueh, this morning.
A special thank you to member attendees and partners, who made the effort to meet our DG.

Other Club Guests
        Jill Barker AG
Wayne Gregson   [Chair Bendigo Heritage Attractions]
[Thanks for all the journalism Wayne, towards publishing Knitting Project articles in Addy, Weekly, Networker and next RDU]
        Dr Nick Manuelpillai
Applying for Rotary International Scholarship to support studies in Europe and LSE London
        Meghan Rogers
Transferring membership across from Next Gen

At board meeting with DG we discussed:
        Membership
We’re regaining traction under Martin Ruffell
        Foundation
                George finds the arithmetic complex
Geoff and Peter understand the numerical gymnastics.
        Child Safety
                Two sources of pressure
                        State of Victoria legislation
                        Rotary insurers nationwide
DG will email to Geoff copy of “Form 3”.

Peter Frueh’s CV is impressive:

His career learnings are:
        People are the key
        You need good systems
        Attitude beats experience, and,
        You need to work together.

His presentation was so audience friendly:
3 questions for George [“Keep it short”]
A tale of how one member on a Senior’s Back Packing “year off” stumbled across a lode of perfect linen labelled
“For Disposal” from FIFO accommodation in the North West.
45 plus 70 pallets of linen eventually shipped by donors and distributed via Rotary.
Peter reassured us that Foundation is all good and introduced us to the “Centurion” toys to collect $2 coins.
        Membership is easy:
Just mention it to folk and start the conversation.

Swap Meet
Stan reported that our club performed well.

D9800 conference March 16-18, 2018

The conference is in Warrnambool, a beautiful coastal town situated on the Prince’s Highway  south east of Melbourne and dating from the gold rush days of the 1850’s. It is a fabulous location and we hope you’ve had a look at the website to gain some idea of what’s in store;

We look forward to keeping you informed and to seeing you there.
