Judy reminded everyone that the Relay for Life starts Friday night. The Next Gen Club have put a team in but need some help.
They need some help to erect their tent in the afternoon and some walkers from 10.30 pm. Contact Judy if you are able to help out.
Lindsay reported that the container of knitting has been loaded and on its way to Maubisse. They loaded 1 tonne of knitting!
Graeme Lynas unexpectedly caught up with Wendy Oliver on the week-end. She has retired from the army after 45 years but is still doing some chaplaincy work. She passed on her regards.
Paul K has also spoken with Dowell. He is still having weekly trips to Melbourne for monitoring.
Best wishes also go to Rob Guley and Wendy Michell for their surgeries.
Report from April 2015 Board meeting
Discussion had re weekly meeting payments for members who are having financial difficulties.
Conor will follow up with the Welfare Committee re developing a recommendation about how to manage this as the club currently does not have a policy for this.
Discussion was also had re developing a Friends of Rotary process. This has been discussed in previous years but not acted on. Conor will follow this up with his committee.
A board paper was put forward recommending engaging someone to develop a filing system for Club runner that will include a naming protocol and migration of the existing files to the new system. A one page instruction sheet is to be provided as well.
The recommendation was accepted so we are now calling for formal proposals and quotes to be submitted by the next Board meeting.
We are inviting members or member’s family/friends to submit a proposal if they are interested and have the skills.

Our guest speaker this week was Cath McDonald with an update from the last time she spoke to the Club 18 months ago about Disability Services in Bendigo.
Cath is the CEO of Radius. The main focus for Radius is people with intellectual disabilities but some of their clients have physical disabilities.
The focus has moved from sheltered workshops to social enterprises
Cath presented quite a few facts and figures on the impact of disability in our society.
People with disability have the same aspirations the we all have – to be educated, employed, have a meaningful life and to be sheltered. Radius in involved with people post secondary education.
Cath spoke about the opportunities with the NDIS and is looking forward to the national roll out beginning in 2016.
A major change happening at Radius is the move into the Morley Johnson Building (the old Toyworld building). This move will open up opportunities for the organisation.
There is an opening tomorrow evening (Bruce has sent out the invitation).
