President's Message
Paul Henderson

We welcomed Gary Pinner and Bernie Young from Bendigo South as part of their scatter meeting week and also good to see Geoff Adcock from Eaglehawk, a regular visitor to our club.

I was also terrific to hear from Ray Butler from Bendigo Food-share and the great work they do in our region. It’s alarming to hear about the numbers of families who struggle on a daily basis to put food on the table and provide for their families.  Thanks to the many donations of food and the group of dedicated volunteers they are able to distribute 1,200,000Kgs of food individually and through 80 plus local organisations.

Because Bendigo Food-share is not a state-wide organisation they are unable to apply for things such as emergency relief funding, so they rely on fundraising and donations.

Bendigo Food-share is running a major fundraiser called Million meals in March where they hope to raise $63,000 and we were pleased to kick of the program with a $2000 donation which equates to about 32,000 meals.  We will also provide some additional funding form the proceeds of the Good Friday BBQ.

On Wednesday I sent a copy of the complied Survey results for final comment which is due by this week’s meeting. The Board will then meet on Monday 7th to begin the process of analysing and implementing the Survey results.

Thanks to Doug Lougoon, George Waters, Graeme Lynas, Stan Hendy for volunteering to take on the role of Chairman for the remainder of the year and help to ensure that meetings run smoothly and professionally.

Finally apologies to Bruce and fellow Rotarians for the lateness of this bulletin report, see you all Wednesday.

Paul

Joke of the week

Dad, Dave and Mum have come down from Snake Gully to the big smoke for a holiday. They visit a very swish Department Store and while
Mum is shopping, Dad and Dave are standing in awe in front of a lift, having no idea what it is.
As they watch, an elderly lady walks into the strange silver doors and the doors close. The father and son watch as the numbers go up,
and then back down. When the doors open , a beautiful young woman walks out.
Dad whispers to his son: "Dave go get you mother."
