Co-Presidents Report for 6 th May 2026
What an interesting and well attended Club meeting today. Some of the
highlights.
Jim Rolfe has had a bit of a setback in his health and the Club
wishes him well for his recovery.
The RC of Bendigo, as part of their Centenary are holding a Past
President’s reunion for all the Clubs they have chartered during this
time.
Doug brought us up to date on the rebuilding of the Chinese
Museum to become the National Chinese Museum of Australia and
that our Rotary Club will be recognised as a major contributor.
Ray thanked Phil and Allie Harris for the work they have been
putting to managing the raffle prizes.
Ray also reported that the combined clubs Knitting project
continues. There will be a shipment of knitted goods to East Timor
later this year.
Colleen reported how well the Easter Markets went and how happy
the CoGB was. She also mentioned that the other two Rotary Clubs
(South Bendigo & Eaglehawk) had good sales as did the quilters and
the Eppalock Primary School running the BBQ on the Sunday.
Eppalock sent us a very nice thank you letter.
Graeme and John gave an update on the work they have been
doing to help resettle Karen refugees into housing in Bendigo by
providing household furniture which they source from multiple
avenues.
A reminder that the Sheep & Wool Show is on again, 17th to the 19th
