This morning we welcomed Colin Lambie from the Bendigo Sustainability Group as our guest speaker. Colin explained to us the partnership between BSG and the City of Greater Bendigo which enabled BSG to install solar panels on the roof of the new library.

After 3 years of negotiations and planning BSG were able to install an 80 panel system which is designed to generate up to 20 KWH of power. This system will generate almost 10% of the power the library uses.
BSG and COGB have entered into a 20 year agreement for the supply of power to the library. The City pays BSG for the power generated. Colin explained that because the COGB have a very favourable buying price from their retailer the return to BSG is not the best cost / benefit that BSG had hoped for, however, Colin pointed out the benefits of the supply of clean energy to the council. Colin also mentioned that this is BSG’s flagship installation and it is used in promoting the use of clean energy.
There is a display in the library showcasing the system. This display shows how the system works and how much power is being generated.

The system is being funded by donations from community groups and individuals. Each panel costs $400 and BSG will be making a request to RCOBS for a donation.

Thank You Colin for a very informative presentation. JC

There was an excellent turn up for the Dawn Service on ANZAC day. Preparations where in hand for rain, but the skies cleared at 4.20am and it remained dry for most of the day.
The club cooked 100kg of sausages and gave the lot away. That was approx 1500 sausages. A great job by all.

This Saturday (2nd May) we will again be running a sausage sizzle at the Railway Station for Groovin the Moo. Based on last year we will sell 120kg. That's 1800 this time, and all between 10pm and midnight.

A judge tells the defendant, “You’re charged with attacking your boss with a hammer.”
“You jerk!” yells a voice from the back of the courtroom.
“You’re also charged with attacking a bartender with a hammer,” says the judge.
“Jerrrrkkkk!” bellows the same man.
“Sir,” says the judge, “one more outburst, and I’ll charge you with contempt.”
“I’m sorry, Your Honour,” says the man. “But I’ve been this jerk’s neighbor for ten years, and every time I asked to borrow a hammer, he said he didn’t have one.”

• What is the sound of no hands texting?
• If nobody likes your selfie, what is the value of the self?
• To see a man’s true face, look to the photo’s he hasn’t posted.

Bad Things to Tell Your Wife
A commercial boasted that its product could help people live pain-free in their golden years.
“Am I in my golden years?” my wife, 63, asked.
“Not at all,” I assured her. “But you are yellowing fast.”
